Report on a Practice Reader's Advisory Interview
This interview I performed and the report I wrote on it for LIS 763: Readers Advisory Services fulfills Learning Outcome 4c. This report only alludes to it, but much of the interview was me explaining how and why I use NoveList to make recommendations and how the interviewee could use it for himself. We also discussed the rhetoric he had been taught about reading and how he could reframe it in order to have a happier and more vibrant relationship to reading. It's a small example of teaching and learning, but it's representative of the day to day instruction librarians can offer to help patrons better access information.
