This presentation I gave at an online event (my portion is slides 38-43) fulfills Learning Outcome 5b. I converted data and analysis from my independent research into a 10 minute presentation to share with an audience of 60+ people. After my presentation, I fielded questions about my research, filling in gaps that I was not able to fit in the slides. Through this conversation, I was able to speak alongside and make connections between my research and the knowledge shared by the other presenters.

It also fulfills Learning Outcome 1c. The research I presented on came about through my participation in Dr. Tony Dunbar's pilot Summer Writing Institute, an extracurricular program I joined after taking his LIS 762 class. I heard the call for presentations for this event through my participation in the Abolitionist Library Association. The data I presented came from interview I undertook with working librarians across the country. This presentation was hosted by the Metropolitan New York Library Council and the Prison Library Support Network, connecting me and putting me in conversation with members of these organizations.
